Lyft Top Drivers

In 2019 we launched a pilot Rewards program for Drivers in select markets as a way to test the economics and success rates of such a program in helping to increase retention and improve overall quality of drivers to enable better marketplace utilization.

Prior to Driver Rewards, tenure Drivers made the same as new Drivers and there was little incentive or differentiation about Lyft that made them likely to stay on the platform over other gig work.

As a result we took the program a step further in building out the tiering structure and driver score metrics which enabled Drivers to learn about how to improve their service and earn more on the platform.

The goal of this project was to think about how the world of Rewards, Tiers and Scores (and feedback) work together as a unified experience for Drivers.

The project is still in review and is slated to launch in all markets in 2021.
